Numerical Calculation of Ship Squat in Shallow Water

Abstract

In order to analyze ship squat during navigation, the NURBS was used to reconstruct the ship hull surface, and a firstorder panel method based on Rankine Source Green Function was applied to construct the mathematical model, and the calculation method of ship squat was obtained on the basis of the above. Taking the standard ship type KCS as an example for verification, the maximum and minimum relative errors between the calculated value and the experimental value were about -10.32% and -1.84% respectively, which were basically consistent with the experimental situation, it shows that the algorithm was feasible.
