Explanations of the corresponding author

The submission system of this journal requires authors to mark the corresponding author when submitting manuscripts, and provide the contact information of the corresponding author, including telephone number and email address. When handling manuscripts, the editorial department mainly contacts the corresponding author, and relevant emails are sent to the email address of the first author and the corresponding author.

Recently, the editorial team has noticed that some manuscripts submitted to our journal have listed both the first author and corresponding author as graduate students, or listed the graduate student advisor as the first author but did not provide contact information, with the graduate student listed as the corresponding author.  During the processing of manuscripts, other authored signed authors, especially the supervisor, could not receive the information from the editorial department, which caused certain obstacles in the processing of manuscripts. To standardize the authorship of papers and improve manuscript processing efficiency, we would like to provide the following guidelines for indicating the corresponding author.

The corresponding author refers to the author who is responsible for communicating with the editorial department during the submission and handling of the paper, and is also the contact person for readers' consultation after the publication of the paper is published. Usually, the first author is the main author of the paper research work and also the main author of the paper. Other by authors must be those who have contributed substantially to the paper, ranked according to their contribution. The corresponding author is the supervisor and gatekeeper of the research work of the paper, and is generally considered as the holder of the research results of the paper, and is mainly responsible for the reliability of the paper.

To ensure smooth processing of manuscripts and to accurately reflect the ownership of research results, the editorial team recommends that authors clearly identify the responsible parties for the paper and properly indicate the first and corresponding authors prior to submission. For papers completed by graduate students (including master's and doctoral students) under the guidance and support of their advisors, with the advisor assuming primary responsibility, it is recommended that the student be listed as the first author and the advisor be listed as the corresponding author. For papers that are mainly completed by the supervisor, only assisted by the graduate students and participate in the signature, it is recommended that the supervisor act as the first author and the corresponding author.

In the future, unless recommended by well-known peers, this journal will no longer accept submissions where the corresponding author is a master's degree student. For the papers of the doctoral student as the corresponding author, if the supervisor participates in the signature, the supervisor must sign on the copyright transfer agreement.
