Rapid evaluation for insulating performance  of marine cable based on its hardness

Abstract

Theoretical analysis and fast thermal ageing experiments show that the close relation exists between the hardness of the marine cable (styrene butadiene rubber) and its performance. Based on this, a new method to evaluate the performance of marine cable through its hardness is proposed, which can evaluate the marine cable’s performance rapidly. Research results provide a new idea to realize the rapid performance evaluation for marine cable.
