Abstract

One kind of mobile electronic nautical chart display system was designed and implemented based on the Android platform. The architecture and functional modules of the system, and the key technologies including parsing and conversion of S57 format electronic nautical chart data, projection transformation, index and search of charts, symbol displaying of objects were described detailedly. The system displays nautical charts precisely and elegantly, and can run stably and smoothly on intelligent mobile phones and tablets. It has a good prospect in the field of shipping information application such as nautical navigation, vessel tracking.
