Numerical simulation on transonic compressor flow field under total pressure distortion range influence

Abstract

Full annulus unsteady numerical simulation was carried out to solve a transonic compressor flow field with different distorted inlet, and the influence of inlet conditions on compressor performance was analyzed. Relation among shock structure/strength in rotor and the inlet distortion conditions, and the variation of flow parameters near end walls and development of corner separation in stator, as well as the influence of distortion flow field on the flow capacity in stator were researched. Results show that the increasing of distortion range can degrade the compressor performance, raise the time of turbulence attenuation in rotor, and magnify more stator passages.
