Characteristic analysis of wind zone climate change in the North Pacific Ocean route

  • North Pacific is the busy waters of the World Ocean transportation. There are some typical ocean routes, and some fluctuations in the change of route with the climate change. In this paper, through the introduction of wind area index and zonal change index indicators, the 1960-2010 NCEP wind reanalysis data was used to describe the annual variation of wind field through Morlet wavelet analysis, which is used to analyze and research the climate change of wind zone. At last, the correlation between the wind field change index and ENSO   index is discussed by sliding correlation analysis method. The results show that the wind zone in North Pacific high latitudes increases yearly and has the trend to low latitude, and low latitudes and vice versa; The wind zone has different interannual and interdecadal period; The wind zone has certain correlation with   index, and the correlation coefficient has abrupt change. The results not only provides a new method for the North Pacific wind change research, but also for the North Pacific Ocean route and meteorological departments to provide a more detailed variation of wind field data and reference.

Abstract

North Pacific is the busy waters of the World Ocean transportation.
