Simulation of Hub-and-spoke Container Shipping Network Evolution Process

Abstract

This paper analyses the hub-and-spoke structure of container shipping network. On the basis of the analysis, the echo model is set up in view of the container shipping network evolution process and simulating on the Swarm platform. The results reproduced the formation process of hub-and-spoke structure of container shipping network. Then analyses the hub and spoke port in the evolution process of output, degree and betweenness. And the influence of policy factors on the evolution of network.
