Simulation on the traffic capacity of the Three Gorges ship lock based on SIVAK

Abstract

Simulation model of the Three Gorges ship lock based on the software SIVAK was set up to analyze ship’s waiting time and study locking scheduling.First come first served (FCFS) and the current series lock scheduling were used to simulate the capacity of lock transiting respectively,and two simulation results were obtained. Comparison result shows that FCFS scheduling decision can obviously shorten ship's waiting time,and increase the number of vessels passing through and traffic capacity of lock,which improves the quality of ship lock service.
