In order to improve the surface hardness of aluminum alloy and reduce its friction coefficient in the friction process, by the addition of MoS2 nanoparticles into the electrolyte, MoS2-containing ceramic layer was prepared on the surface of ZL109 aluminum alloy through the technology of Micro-arc oxidation, and the composite ceramic layer exhibited good tribological properties. After adding MoS2 nanoparticles, the surface roughness of the ceramic layer decreases, but the hardness does not change significantly. In the friction and wear test, the friction coefficient of the composite ceramic layer is lower than that of the common ceramic layer. When the mass concentration of MoS2 nanoparticles is 5 g/L, the friction coefficient of ceramic layer is lowest, and it is lower than that of common ceramic layer by 47%.
