In order to explore the centrality and network structure level of world container ports, the complex network of container ports in the world was constructed by using the ports as nodes, the connections between ports as edges, and the voyage as weights to study the structure and characteristics of the network. The results show that the world container port network conforms to the characteristics of small world and scalefree, and which can be divided into six levels. The geographical distribution of hub ports in the world is uneven, mainly concentrated in East Asia and Southeast Asia. And it can be seen from the comparison with the topological network index that the weighted network with voyage as the weight can better reflect the centrality and importance of container ports in the world. This conclusion can provide reference for the formulation of government maritime transport policies, the development planning of port and waterway enterprises and global transport capacity allocation.
